Another trip up to Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands at the weekend to capture it when the snow transform the area yet again and so many familiar faces (and plenty of news ones) where up here too this weekend so you know how good it was.
These are my mountains and I have come home – Ralston
This spot is higher up the mountain from my previous shot, Burst of Light and I have not had the right light/conditions to capture it the way I wanted but I am a little happier with this attempt. You can see the road from the previous shot in the middle to the right in this image.
This is a cairn about a 15 minute climb higher up the mountain side and the snow in recent weeks/days certainly changed the mood of the image. The climb itself was a bit dodgy at times, with the ice patches something to be very watchful of.
Whilst I was here, there was a family who had arrived to scatter the ashes of a loved one just behind where I was and I am not sure if choosing this spot was an intentional but the quote on the cairn and the present situation seemed very fitting.
