Another image from my trip up to the Isle of Skye in September, this time of Sligachan.
We stopped off at the Sligachan Hotel to grab a bite to eat before checking in to our hotel and having a short break. If you do get the chance, do stop here for a bit as the staff are so friendly and make you feel very welcome.
The light was very harsh but constantly changing and of the shots I took here I prefer this dramatic version which as grown on me since I first looked at it. I was surprised with the river levels given the recent rain so the stream was a lot calmer than I hoped but I was still very happy with the results.
I was shooting my Isle of Skye images with a loaned digital medium format camera, a PhaseOne IQ180 (more on that later), courtesy of Direct Digital Imaging. Whilst I was shooting this image, I was pleasantly surprised to see a cyclist who had stopped to take pictures using a film medium format camera alongside me, which is rare in itself but even rarer to see the old and modern version of the same setup side by side on location.
