Two days ago, Dundee found out that it had made the shortlist to be crowned UK City of Culture 2017 so I went out to capture the sunset over the City that night and it did not disappoint.
Dundee made the shortlist out of eleven cities and is now competing against Leicester, Hull and Swansea Bay for the title so fingers crossed that Dundee will ultimately walk away with the award.
I was delighted that one of my images of Dundee was used as the cover image for the bid document that was sent for the shortlist and managed to capture and equally fitting image the day the shortlist was announced.
This time, I focused on the Tay Rail Bridge as the clouds were looking promising over this end of the City and the afterglow was perfect. I took a number of shots but then had a quick look at the train times for Dundee to see if a train was scheduled to pass shortly so that I could get a passing train in the shot. As luck would have it, a train was due to depart for Edinburgh after a few minutes so I waited for the train and this was the result.
A big congratulations to all those involved in the bid process to get this far and hopefully we will walk away with the title in the end.
