Sony World Photography Awards 2017

I am delighted to announce another big competition success today, this time my image of Fleeting Light at the Quiraing has been chosen as one of the top 50 in the world in the Nature category of the Open competition at the 2017 Sony World Photography Awards.

This competition is one of the world's largest photography competitions and my image was Commended in this category. It was selected from 105,692 images from 182 countries and so is an incredible achievement. There are a total of 18 British photographers recognised across the awards shortlist, and a further 24 commended.

My image will now be shown globally on the World Photography Organisation website and exhibited at Somerset House, London as part of the 2017 Sony World Photography Awards exhibition from 21st April – 7th May.

To reach the top 50 out of hundreds of thousands of entries from across the globe is very humbling and I am glad my images of Scotland continue to gain recognition on an international stage - I am extremely proud of my successes no matter how big or small.

Congratulations to all the other award winners as well - you should all be very proud of your success.
