Last weekend I had the honour and absolute privilege to be a part of what was an amazing event down in the Lake District that was called the ‘Ultimate Photographers Weekend in the Lake District’ and it certainly lived up to it’s name.
The aim of the event was to have a weekend workshop along with the opportunity to use pretty much most of the portfolio of Phase One camera equipment you could think of. There was everything from the top of the range 100 megapixel backs to most lenses in the range and technical backs and they were available for the participants to take out and use during the time there.
I was honoured to have been asked to be one of the mentors alongside the renowned photographers Joe Cornish and Steve Gosling by the organisers and had been looking forward to the weekend for quite some time. As an added bonus William Barrington-Binns also joined us to put on a flash photography workshop on the final day.
The event was held at the beautiful Borrowdale Gates Hotel, which was an absolutely lovely place in an idyllic location and the staff could not have been more amazing. It is a place I will certainly be visiting again in the future.
The two days went by far too quick, everyone had an amazing time and none more so than I after getting the opportunity to discuss all things photography with Joe and Steve. Just hearing their thoughts on everything, from their approach to their own work to comments on my work and getting the chance to meet so many different people, it was a weekend I will not forget anytime soon.
Special thanks go to Joe Cornish and Steve Gosling for your kind words and more importantly for your time. Your work has always inspired me and I know it will continue to do so – thank you so much. It was my first meeting with you both and I hope it certainly won’t be the last and it was an absolute honour to have shared a stage with you both.Behind the Scenes Images →
