The Shard is the latest skyscraper to join the already famous skyline of the city of London. It is expected to open to the public early July and is the tallest building in Europe at 310 metres (1,020 ft). Designed by the architect, Renzo Piano, it is a stunning addition to city and really does look great covered entirely in glass.

Last month I organised an outing for members of Dundee Photographic Society to the Falkirk Wheel, which has been a outing in the making for a long time! The first time it got cancelled due to bad weather when we had all that snow in November/December 2010 and then last year around the same time it didn’t go ahead due to an issue with the coloured lights around the Wheel itself.
